Travelogy: Tasmania Road Trip

The world has opened up again, after the pandemic, for over a year now. Meanwhile, airfares have gone up by around 50% compared to the beginning of 2020. And i have only traveled domestically and internationally once each — both for family events — since then, so i decided to blog about those i did in the last decade instead. Hehe. Travelogy: Natuna

“Dari Sabang sampai Merauke berjajar pulau-pulau
Sambung menyambung menjadi satu, itulah Indonesia”

Continue reading “Travelogy: Natuna”

Post travel syndrome? Not really…

Travel can make you appreciate your home(town) more.

I read something along this line before. I didn’t think i would agree, but i did — and still do. You may be dubious, like how is that possible? The reason we travel, go on vacation, and take time off is to get away from stifling routine, to be refreshed, or to escape ‘reality’ albeit temporarily, isn’t it? Travelogy: A Thousand Island

I somewhat forgot that when traveling domestically, expectations have to be toned down… considerably. Not in terms of view/natural beauty, but accommodation, infrastructure, and facilities-wise. At the end, I cannot conclude whether it was fun… since to and from journey was such a pain in the ass, literally, it nearly outstripped all the fun.
Another thing to note: cruising Indonesia isn’t for the princes/princess-y type I guess. It was uncomfortable for me too but I was trying to live with it and not to moan too much.
Lesson learned: appreciate the luxury of having abundant supply of fresh, clean water.
Turnoff: littering. Gosh; ocean isn’t a garbage bin! Do they think it’d swallow the waste and it’d magically disappear, seriously!?!?
Those things aside, the bright side is: I got to snorkel! What an experience~ *,*

Travelogy: Viet Trip

After going on a holiday, especially with family, it’s expected that you’ll feel and look refreshed, isn’t it? Well… during my family’s SG-HAN-SG holiday this year, it was more of a negative experience than what’s not. Unless until Ha Long Bay 3-day cruise. It was really the highlight of the 6-day trip to Vietnam. No wonder many websites state that should you go to Vietnam, don’t miss out Ha Long. Or ‘worse’, some even stated that going to Ha Long alone is enough – no need to explore the other parts of Vietnam. LOL. Continue reading “Travelogy: Viet Trip”

[Buku] Travelers’ Tale; Belok Kanan: Barcelona

Jusuf, Retno, Farah, dan Francis. Empat orang yg sudah bersahabat sejak SD. Mereka kini bekerja di luar Indonesia di bidangnya masing-masing. Lama tak bertemu, undangan pernikahan yg datang dari Francis lah yg akan mempertemukan keempatnya. Pertemuan yg bisa memporakporandakan fondasi pertemanan mereka yg kokoh.

Masing-masing tokoh ditulis oleh penulis yg berbeda. Ga ditulis sih siapa nulis siapa, but from the way the story is written, we can roughly guess it. Inti ceritanya sebenernya sih simpel, tapi unik. Kita dibawa mengarungi puluhan kota dan nama tempat yg mungkin asing bagi kita menuju satu kota: Barcelona. Dengan budget pas-pasan, ketiga sohib Francis memutuskan mengarungi setengah dunia demi misinya masing-masing. Continue reading “[Buku] Travelers’ Tale; Belok Kanan: Barcelona”
